In an event organized by the Israel Diamond Exchange, the President bid farewell to the outgoing Managing Director Mr. A. Poroshotman and warmly welcomed his successor, Mr. M. Makash Sharma.

The Israeli diamond community paid homage to the State Bank of India's top representative in Israel, who is completing his tenure, and welcomed his replacement, the Israel Diamond Exchange reports. In an event that celebrated the Indian culture, the IDE President Mr. Shmuel Schnitzer and other leaders of the Israeli diamond industry honored the State Bank of India's outgoing Managing Director Mr. A. Poroshotman and feted its incoming Managing Director Mr. M. Makash Sharma.

Classical Indian music with sitar and raga greeted the guests and traditional Indian cuisine treated their palates. The IDE's Schnitzer was joined by IDE Chair and Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association Chair Mr. Kobi Korn, IDE Vice-President and Banking Committee Chair Mr. Ya'akov Kattan, IDE General Manager Mr. Moti Besser, Israel Precious Stones and Diamonds Exchange President Mr. Shlomo Eshed and IDE Honorary President Mr. Avi Paz, as well as representatives of a host of Israeli diamond companies, many of whom do business with the bank.

Mr. Schnitzer told the assembled guests, "I'm very pleased to be here tonight. In the past year since I was again elected as President of the Exchange we have been working with the State Bank of India very productively. The fact that there is an Indian bank in the diamond exchange complex is a great honor for Israel.

"Recently, we have signed contracts with several banks operating in the Israeli diamond sector, which will provide new oxygen and credit for the industry. I wish the outgoing Managing Director, Mr. Poroshotman, and the incoming Managing Director, Mr. Sharma, much success in their new roles," he added.

Mr. Poroshotman extended his gratitude to his hosts after four years of service, while Sharma expressed admiration for the country and his hope that good business relations would be maintained during his tenure.
