Celebrating the bond between India & Israel
13/05/2015
On the occasion of Israel's 67th Independence Day celebration in the capital, Daniel Carmon, Ambassador of Israel, spoke to the guests about the strong ties between the two countries.

With a special mention to Lt. General (Retd.) JFR Jacob, he said, "I'd like to pay tribute and to recognize General Jacob, an Indian war hero, a proud Jew and a friend of Israel. At 67 we still feel young and vibrant. We invent, we create and we innovate. We serve as a bridge between the East and the West. While constantly challenged by our complex neighborhood, we have succeeded in maintaining a vibrant multi-cultural society."

He added, "We are proud to see so many success stories within the India-Israel partnership - from food security to cyber security - we are ready to embark on new avenues with our Indian friends. India and Israel both understand the importance of combining ancient tradition and continuity. Our bond has proved to be successful more than once. It is my first Independence Day as Israeli ambassador o India. It is a pleasure to be part of this wonderful journey." The celebrations, which began with the Indian and the Israeli national anthem, concluded with the guests dancing to old Hindi songs on the dance floor.
