Israeli Police Wear Made in India Uniforms, thanks to dressmakers from Kerala

Hundreds of tailors at the Maryan Apparel Pvt Limited are toiling hard to get the uniforms ready for Israel Police

The light-blue, long sleeve uniform shirts of members of Israel Police are being stitched at an apparel unit in Kannur, Kerala, which has the glorious tradition of handloom making and textile export.


According to News18.com, Hundreds of tailors at the Maryan Apparel Pvt Limited, stitch the double-pocket shirts and also design and attach the trademark emblems on its sleeves. The local dressmakers have been supplying nearly 100,000 shirts annually to the Israeli police for the last three years.

"We are supplying uniform shirts to the police force of Israel - both men and women officers - for the last three years," Mr. Sijin Kumar, accounts and administration manager of the company said.

The company specialises in uniforms of army men, police personnel, security officers and health service workers of various countries across the globe.
