Goa CM-led Delegation to visit Israel
02/07/2013
Aimed at promoting joint tourism and joint ventures in agriculture

A delegation led by Chief Minister of Goa Mr. Manohar Parrikar and organised by the Goa Chamber of Commerce (GCCI) will be travelling to Israel towards the end of July 2013 to survey the potential of rural tourism in Goa.

The delegation will study the prospects of promoting tourism in untapped areas such as trekking, angling, spice gardens and bird watching in the interior regions of the state. Besides rural tourism, the group to Israel will also explore the possibility of setting up joint ventures in food products and dairy farming.

Mr Mangurish Pai Raikar, outgoing president, GCCI, said that locations in Canacona, Cotigao and even Carambolim Lake need to be explored because of its promise for rural tourism. He said that the visit to Israel is planned as a return trip as delegates from Israel had visited Goa earlier with a view to promote trade.
