Netafim wins order for irrigation project in Karnataka State

Netafim Irrigation India, a subsidiary of Netafim Irrigation of Israel, has won a contract worth $ 62 million (approx Rs 381 crore) for a drip-irrigation project in Karnataka.

The contract concerns building an automated water pipeline network to more efficiently drip-irrigate about 29,000 acre (11,800 ha) of land in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The project involves implementation of Ramthal (Marol) lift irrigation scheme in Bagalkot and will be implemented by Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam at an estimated cost of Rs 421 crore. The project partner is Megha Engineering and Infrastructure.
